Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Paginor (“the app”) is an iOS application for managing private book collections. The publisher of the app and operator of this website is:

This page is publicly accessible without login and applies to the Paginor app distributed through the Apple App Store.

2. Summary at a glance

  • Paginor does not run any analytics, tracking, advertising or fingerprinting.
  • Paginor does not require an account and does not collect personal data on any server operated by us.
  • All book data you enter stays on your device. If you enable iCloud, the data is additionally stored in your personal iCloud account.
  • The app uses Apple’s standard frameworks (UIKit, CloudKit, PhotoKit, AVFoundation). It does not include third-party SDKs for analytics or marketing.

3. Data the app processes

3.1 Book and shelf data (User Content)

Information you enter or scan – such as title, subtitle, author, ISBN, cover image, blurb, reading status, shelf assignment and any notes – is stored locally on your device. It is processed solely to provide the app’s core functions (cataloguing, duplicate check, search, shelf management, export).

3.2 Camera

For the scan feature the app requests access to the camera. The camera image is processed live on the device to detect the ISBN / barcode and is not stored, transmitted, or shared.

3.3 iCloud (optional)

If you enable iCloud sync, the app uses Apple’s CloudKit service to synchronise your library across your devices and to create automatic backups. The data is stored end-to-end inside your personal Apple ID and is not accessible to us. Apple’s privacy policy applies in addition: apple.com/legal/privacy.

3.4 Shared shelves (Paginor 2.0)

When you share a shelf with other people, Apple’s CloudKit Sharing mechanism is used. Invitations and member management are handled by iCloud; we do not see who is invited or which shelves are shared.

3.5 Metadata sources (optional)

When you add a book by ISBN, Paginor can query third-party metadata sources (such as the German National Library or comparable services) to retrieve title, author, cover and blurb. The sources can be configured in the settings. When such a query is sent, the ISBN you look up and standard request information (such as your IP address) are transmitted to the chosen provider, which has its own privacy policy. The app does not transmit any other personal data.

3.6 SFTP upload (optional)

If you enable web publishing, the app can upload an HTML export of the shelves you have approved to an SFTP server you specify. Server address, username and password are stored only on your device (in the system keychain where applicable) and are used solely to establish the connection. We do not receive any of these values.

3.7 Export and import (CSV / ZIP)

You can export your library as a CSV file or as a ZIP archive of the web view. Where the file is shared (mail, Files app, AirDrop, third party services) is decided by you and is no longer covered by this policy.

3.8 Diagnostics from Apple

If you have agreed in iOS settings to share diagnostics and usage data with developers, Apple may pass anonymised crash reports to us via the App Store. We use them only to fix bugs. You can disable this at any time under Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

4. Categories Apple lists in “App Privacy”

The following gives the Apple App Store privacy categories:

  • Data not collected: contact info, location, financial info, health, browsing history, search history, identifiers, advertising data, sensitive info, contacts.
  • Data not linked to you: none.
  • Data linked to you: only the user content (book entries) you create yourself, stored on your device or in your personal iCloud.
  • Tracking: the app does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

5. Children

Paginor is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from them. The App Store age rating reflects the suitability of the app.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

Because we do not store personal data on our own servers, there is normally nothing to request, correct or erase from us. For data you stored in your own iCloud, please use the iCloud controls of your Apple ID. Independently of this you have the following rights under the GDPR: access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), portability (Art. 20), objection (Art. 21) and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77). 7. Data security

Communication with iCloud and with metadata sources is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS). Locally stored data is protected by the standard iOS data protection mechanisms.

8. Changes

We may update this policy if the app changes (for example, when a new feature processes additional data). The current version is always available at this URL; the effective date above is updated accordingly.

Diese Seite ist ohne Anmeldung öffentlich erreichbar und gilt für die über den Apple App Store vertriebene Paginor-App.

2. Auf einen Blick

  • Paginor verwendet keine Analytics-, Tracking-, Werbe- oder Fingerprinting-Tools.
  • Es ist kein Konto erforderlich; auf von uns betriebenen Servern werden keine personenbezogenen Daten gespeichert.
  • Alle Buchdaten, die Sie eingeben, bleiben auf Ihrem Gerät. Wenn Sie iCloud aktivieren, werden sie zusätzlich in Ihrem persönlichen iCloud-Konto gespeichert.
  • Die App nutzt Apples Standard-Frameworks (UIKit, CloudKit, PhotoKit, AVFoundation). Sie enthält keine SDKs Dritter für Analyse oder Marketing.

3. Daten, die die App verarbeitet

3.1 Buch- und Regaldaten (Nutzerinhalt)

Daten, die Sie eingeben oder scannen – Titel, Untertitel, Autor, ISBN, Cover, Klappentext, Lesestatus, Regalzuordnung sowie Notizen – werden lokal auf Ihrem Gerät gespeichert. Sie werden ausschließlich dafür verarbeitet, die Kernfunktionen der App bereitzustellen (Erfassen, Dublettenprüfung, Suche, Regalverwaltung, Export).

3.2 Kamera

Für die Scanfunktion fragt die App den Zugriff auf die Kamera ab. Das Kamerabild wird live auf dem Gerät verarbeitet, um ISBN/Barcode zu erkennen, und wird weder gespeichert noch übertragen oder geteilt.

3.3 iCloud (optional)

Wenn Sie die iCloud-Synchronisation aktivieren, nutzt die App den CloudKit-Dienst von Apple, um Ihre Bibliothek zwischen Ihren Geräten zu synchronisieren und automatische Backups anzulegen. Die Daten liegen Ende-zu-Ende in Ihrer Apple-ID und sind für uns nicht zugänglich. Ergänzend gilt die Datenschutzerklärung von Apple: apple.com/de/legal/privacy.

3.4 Geteilte Regale (Paginor 2.0)

Wenn Sie ein Regal mit anderen Personen teilen, wird das CloudKit- Sharing von Apple verwendet. Einladungen und Mitgliederverwaltung laufen über iCloud; wir sehen weder die eingeladenen Personen noch, welche Regale geteilt sind.

3.5 Metadatenquellen (optional)

Wenn Sie ein Buch über die ISBN erfassen, kann Paginor externe Metadatenquellen abfragen (z. B. die Deutsche Nationalbibliothek oder vergleichbare Dienste), um Titel, Autor, Cover und Klappentext zu ermitteln. Die Quellen sind in den Einstellungen konfigurierbar. Bei einer solchen Abfrage werden die abgefragte ISBN und übliche Verbindungsdaten (z. B. Ihre IP-Adresse) an den jeweiligen Anbieter übermittelt. Es gilt dann zusätzlich dessen Datenschutzerklärung. Weitere personenbezogene Daten werden nicht übermittelt.

3.6 SFTP-Upload (optional)

Wenn Sie die Webveröffentlichung nutzen, kann die App den HTML-Export der freigegebenen Regale auf einen von Ihnen benannten SFTP-Server hochladen. Serveradresse, Benutzername und Passwort werden ausschließlich auf Ihrem Gerät gespeichert (wo möglich im System-Schlüsselbund) und ausschließlich für den Verbindungsaufbau verwendet. Wir erhalten keine dieser Angaben.

3.7 Export und Import (CSV / ZIP)

Sie können Ihre Bibliothek als CSV-Datei oder als ZIP-Archiv der Webansicht exportieren. Wohin Sie diese Datei weitergeben (Mail, Dateien-App, AirDrop, Drittanbieter), entscheiden Sie und ist nicht mehr Gegenstand dieser Erklärung.

3.8 Diagnose über Apple

Sofern Sie in den iOS-Einstellungen der Übermittlung von Diagnose- und Nutzungsdaten zugestimmt haben, kann Apple anonymisierte Absturzberichte an uns weitergeben. Wir verwenden sie ausschließlich zur Fehlerbehebung. Sie können dies jederzeit unter Einstellungen → Datenschutz & Sicherheit → Analyse & Verbesserungen deaktivieren.

4. Apple-Kategorien („App-Datenschutz“)

Für die Datenschutzangaben im App Store gilt:

  • Nicht erfasste Daten: Kontaktdaten, Standort, Finanzdaten, Gesundheit, Browser- oder Suchverlauf, Identifier, Werbedaten, sensible Daten, Kontakte.
  • Mit Ihnen verknüpfte Daten: ausschließlich die von Ihnen selbst erstellten Nutzerinhalte (Bucheinträge), gespeichert auf Ihrem Gerät bzw. in Ihrer persönlichen iCloud.
  • Tracking: Die App verfolgt Sie nicht über Apps oder Webseiten anderer Unternehmen hinweg.

5. Kinder

Paginor richtet sich nicht an Kinder unter 13 Jahren und erhebt wissentlich keine personenbezogenen Daten von ihnen. Die Altersfreigabe im App Store entspricht der Eignung der App.

6. Ihre Rechte (DSGVO)

Da wir keine personenbezogenen Daten auf eigenen Servern speichern, gibt es uns gegenüber im Regelfall keine Daten herauszugeben oder zu löschen. Für Daten in Ihrer eigenen iCloud nutzen Sie bitte die iCloud-Steuerung Ihrer Apple-ID. Unabhängig davon stehen Ihnen nach DSGVO folgende Rechte zu: Auskunft (Art. 15), Berichtigung (Art. 16), Löschung (Art. 17), Einschränkung (Art. 18), Datenübertragbarkeit (Art. 20), Widerspruch (Art. 21) und Beschwerde bei einer Aufsichtsbehörde (Art. 77). Eine formlose E-Mail an info@paginor.de genügt.

7. Datensicherheit

Verbindungen zu iCloud und zu Metadatenquellen werden TLS-verschlüsselt (HTTPS) übertragen. Lokal gespeicherte Daten sind durch die Datenschutz-Mechanismen von iOS geschützt.

8. Änderungen

Wir können diese Erklärung anpassen, wenn sich die App ändert (etwa weil eine neue Funktion zusätzliche Daten verarbeitet). Die jeweils aktuelle Fassung ist unter dieser URL verfügbar; das oben genannte Datum wird entsprechend aktualisiert.
